The Newest 30 Year Old on the Block!

OK...so I did a really lousy job of taking pictures of Chris' party. Things were just so crazy this week that I didn't photo journal things as much as I would have liked. We had a great party! Lots of pizza, fruit and veggies, soda, and sweets. We played games, did a "30 questions about the birthday boy" trivia game, and I handed out these cute goodie bags with the "wicked goods" (Chris' favorite peanut butter chocolate chip cookie) in them. I spent a lot of time on the details of this party and am so mad I did document it with pictures. Oh well...What can you do.

Singing to Chris. Happy Birthday Sweetie!!

Is that a birthday cake or a small camp fire? Chris' favorite. German Chocolate. Hmmm...

And you can't tell but I spent hours putting up all these streamers. The lantern actually lights up but I didn't get a picture of it. The signs say look who is 30 and Congratulations and there are these cute #30 thinks hanging down from a bunch of places. It took MUCH longer than I thought it would but at least I was able to stay up and keep Chris company while he did his pink wax denture messy project!

WAX..WAX....and more WAX!!

This is what Chris' favorite evening pastime has been lately. Waxing up teeth in some kind of custom mold to create dentures. Not sure how it all works. I just know that it gets pink wax all over my clean floor. Did I mention he decided to do this after I had JUST vacuumed that day?! And also...this picture was taken at 2am. AHHH.....when in graduation?? Cant wait until we can get a good night's sleep!

Desperate Times Call for Desperate Measures

So...after going to the doctor for yet a 3rd time for a really sore throat that has lasted over a month. We also ruled out Mono. Thank heavens!!. The Dr. told me to do a sinus rinse everyday for a few days to see if that made any difference. A sinus rinse? Yes...stick this thing up your nose, feel like you have been under water inhaling for a few minutes, and rinse out those sinuses. Well...after a few days...sore throat is gone. It actually wasn't too bad but I couldn't help but feel gross and bust out laughing every time I did it. Ahhh...the excitement of life!

Conference Weekend

So tradition has it that I make cinnamon rolls on conference weekend. Well...we are trying to be healthier (especially since next week for Chris' 30th we will definitely not be healthy for a few days) so I decided to make this yummy whole stone ground wheat, honey, flaxseed break. We ate it with some honey and butter. Soo..not that much healthier but still a great conference treat. When else do we have 4 hours to just sit and relax. Lots of time for bread to rise...I love conference!

I especially love Elder Uchtdorf's talk about being a player in the gospel instead of a spectator. I love it when they talk in parables. Especially one that I can relate to.

What's the Verdict?

I always tell people that my Dad kindof looks like Danny Devito. My brother made this picture comparison. What do you think? LOL

BUSY!!!

Hi Everyone!! So sorry for the lack of posting. All I can say is that Chris and I have been busier than we could ever imagine right now!! Our days are literally packed from early morning to LATE at night. PLUS on top of all of this I have been SO SICK and still trying to go 100 miles an hour. I'm now still working as a nanny (and since my girls have been really sick too I've been working overtime like crazy with them) but also teaching 11 classes a week and applying for jobs and trying to get all my recomendations together while putting everything together for our move, our graduation trip, AND CHRIS' 30TH BIRTHDAY!!!! I've been planning and saving for this one for 2 years and he hasn't a clue what we are doing. IF YOU KNOW DO NOT POST ANY SPOILERS IN ANY COMMENTS!!!!!!!! It's this weekend!! So pictures will come late next week hopefully! SO EXCITED!! So here are a couple posts to hold you over. Unfortunately I haven't had my camera to show everything we've been doing but we are having fun and staying super busy. Love you all!!

Oregon

Soo...we took a trip to Oregon to check out a potential job as a dentist. It's a very long story but we are definitely considering the position. Unfortunately while we were there I was STILL sick and not my normal self so I only took these two pictures!! I'm really sad about it! But this is our trip to Eugene OR. Chris is really into running as most of you know and U of O is the home of Prefontaine a very famous runner.

This is Chris standing by the sign at the entrance to the HUGE track stadium that they have.

And here is some video. It was POURING rain that day!

Sleeping??

I don't normally post pictures of my girls on the blog but this one had to make it. I was watching Sarah while she was home sick for a few days. She said she was tired so I told her to go in her room and sleep. I thought she was sleeping in there it was so quiet. Well...apparently...she couldn't sleep without ALL of her favorite toys. When I came in to check on her I laughed so hard I almost woke her up. LOL!!

How many toys can you count in these pictures?

And both legs in 1 pant leg?? This girl is so creative!

Did I mention there were layers??? A spatula?

Mustache March Inspirations

Facial Hair February and Mustache March

So in the last few month of dental school a bunch of the Seniors got together and decided to grow out full beards in February (Facial hair February) to eventually have great mustaches for March (Mustache March). So here is the final product. You can see Chris with a full beard in the bowling pictures below. Sadly I didn't have any pictures of him with a beard besides those.

After a day of a goatee sp? Chris went for the handle bar mustache style.

SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO SICK!!!

The past 3 weeks I have been SO SICK!! I honestly don't remember the last time I was so sick and it lasted so long. I thank the little girls I take care of for this one!! I had a high fever for 4 days, lost my voice for a full week, and then was JUST enough better to work and teach classes but not feeling 100% for 2 + more weeks. STILL not well!!! And it has been almost 4 weeks now! 2 trips to the Dr. have said..."Sorry...it's a virus and you just have to WAIT it out". Well...I don't live up to my name so well when it comes to sickness. I get really depressed when I am sick for long periods of time (more than a day LOL). So my sweet husband one day brought home these bright cheery flowers to cheer me up. What a sweetie! Their my favorite Gerbera Daisies! The crazy thing is that they lasted 2 FULL weeks! Thanks Babe!

BOWLING!!

Our friends Ashley and Austin came to visit us for the weekend which always means fun times, late nights, and lots of games. We decided to go bowling and the night just kept getting crazier and crazier.

Ashley and Austin in a cute pose.

Ashley started off the night by falling on the slippery floor. She was a sport about it all though!

Austin doing the "rooster dance"

Yoga and bowling? Not sure what I was thinking here but we were all REALLY crazy that night.

Chris bowling.

Not sure what I am laughing about here....Seriously..what was in the water??

Itchy face!! LOVELY! My favorite you can see.

My mountain man. See the previous posts about Chris' phases of facial hair.

Ashley's camera has this 5 quick shot feature so we decided to play around with it.

We get a pretty good kick out of ourselves as you can see....

See what happens when you mix sugar, bowling, and a camera?

Yikes!!

OK...so the story behind this video.....We were not having the best night as bowlers. We kept bowling and EVERYONE had just 1 pin that would not go down. SO we decided to up the anty of a Strike dance. It kept getting crazier because no one was getting a strike. So...I finally was dared to get a strike and make a really loud dance. Well....I got a strike, did my dance, took my dare, and....REALLY embarassed myself. Amazingly...we got this on camera. But hey!!! On the bright side...I have proof that I can bowl right??

Time with the Bowdens

The fun never ends with Ashley and Austin. We decided to drive up to the top of Mt. Tam and hike to the summit. You can see all of the Bay area in a full 360 view. Behind them is San Francisco and Tiburon. We love this spot!!

Cute couple.

Austin at death defying heights! Yikes!

Austin's King of the World picture. Don't look down!

Goofing off at the summit.

After the hike we went for a picnic at Stinson Beach. It was beautiful. The sun was setting and Ashley suggested we take some pictures. We liked this one alot!

Our Strange Puppy!

Our little Maximus never ceases to keep us entertained!

You can tell how much he loves Chris. He is always trying to snuggle him in any kind of way even if it's in some awkward position. He's such a cuddle dog!

I came home one day and found him lying on the top of the couch looking out the window...YES acting like a cat!! He sat up before I could get a picture. It was so funny!

And Finally...this is what Maximus does when he hears sirens from firetrucks and ambulances. We finally got some good video of it. Yes...he is actually capable of making noise!
